We’ve had a great season here at Maplewood with full workshops and lots of activity! Our 1 Day Sharpening and 1 Day Joinery Saturday classes were very well received. A few of the classes went into the early evening, with a lot of ground to cover in one day, but participants seemed to enjoy the opportunity to learn the basic skills of sharpening or joinery in a single day. Thanks to all of you who took the time to stop in to our booth at the Saratoga Springs Woodworker’s Showcase. It was a busy weekend, for sure. Our featured demonstrations on Mortise and Tenon Joints and Making a Shooting Board were well attended both days. The booth was bustling with activity and demonstrations in creating dovetail joints, carving, creating raised panels with a hand plane, timber-framing and fine instrument making. Up next? Read More2015 Woodworkers Showcase in Saratoga Springs This Weekend!
We will be back at the NWA Woodworkers Showcase this year on March 28 and 29, 2015 at the City Center in Saratoga Springs. This year, in addition to our booth, we have been invited to be one of the featured demonstrators at the showcase. We will be repeating two demonstrations on both Saturday and Sunday. We will also be raffling off a beautifully restored antique Stanley #4 Smoothing Plane and a $250 Maplewood Gift Certificate at our booth. Here is a video showing the Maplewood workshop in full swing! Many class participants have told us they enjoy learning in our spacious timber-framed woodshop. Our facility is equipped with 18 hand-made workbenches and complete sets of hand tools, so those attending classes do not need to bring tools (unless they would rather use their own).
